Where is Tulsa? Incorporated in 1898, Tulsa lies in the heart of "Green Country", a fertile forested region of rolling hills in northeastern Oklahoma. Tulsa is the second largest city in the state, located 90 miles northeast of the state capital, Oklahoma City.

Just west of downtown an outdoor amphitheater called Discoveryland hosts an annual summer production of the Rogers and Hammerstein musical, "Oklahoma", including live horses on stage. Horseracing, Stock Car Racing, and Pro Wrestling are also available in or near Tulsa.
Established sports teams for young and old provide activities such as soccer, rugby, football, triathlon, distance running, baseball, softball, gymnastics, tennis, golf, handball, bicycling, sailing and corporate challenge. Through an award-winning program, the city has established multi-use flood detention basins that are used by various amateur sporting programs such as youth soccer when not fulfilling their primary function. Several bowling alleys provide Tulsa with 10-pin fun.
Tulsa has many movie theatres, including one with an I-Max screen. Convenience stores and movie rental stores abound. Pre-teens enjoy Funhouse and Chucky Cheese, while a little bit older guys like the paintball course or the rollerblading rink. Where in Tulsa does the Friesen Family live? We live in the far southeast corner of the city, right where Tulsa adjoins the cities of Bixby and Broken Arrow. We live in the Union Public Schools district.
